We’ve made no secret of our love for Satisfy and Oakley’s ongoing “Equipment for Our World” series. Chapter VII dropped back in June with the reborn Straight Jacket 99 and a Japanese cooling kit that chilled skin by a claimed 8 degrees, and barely four months later the duo is back with shovels in hand. Say hello to Satisfy x Oakley Chapter VIII, a capsule that treats Oakley’s iconic eyewear like buried treasure.
Scar Tissue
The whole chapter is staged like an archaeological dig, with every campaign shot showing frames caked in dust as if they were pulled straight out of the desert floor. And while it might feel like a ridiculous bit of theater, and we’re huge fans of what the two brands are doing to push the boundaries of product launch campaigns.
The relic in question is the Scar, which Oakley bills as its first mixed-material frame when it debuted in 2001. The silhouette splices DNA from both the Jacket and X-Metal families. Satisfy reworks it in Falcon and X-Silver Metal colorways, keeping the O Matter chassis and metal hinge while fitting collab-exclusive vented Prizm Tungsten and Black lenses.
A Relic From the Future
Where the Scar digs backward into the brand’s arcchives, the Suture Jacket points to the future. It’s the newest and spikiest branch of Oakley’s current Jackets family, all high-wrap geometry with Unobtainium nosepads that are designed to clamp down harder once you start sweating.
Satisfy offers it in Grey Smoke and a louder Transparent Yellow, both wearing the same vented Prizm Black lenses developed for this drop. Each pair also ships with a custom system eyewear bag and a clear collector’s box.
Laser-Cut to Breathe
Just like the eyewear, the apparel’s focus is almost entirely on ventilation. The AuraLite Dune Perforated Long Tee runs laser-cut holes through featherweight Japanese micro-jersey, and the whole setup is designed to punch airflow straight through the zones that overheat first.
Up top, the AmbientWarp Trail Cap maps matching perforations across a Cordura-reinforced, DWR-coated softshell crown with a bungee adjuster out back. And the SoftCell Bandana rounds out the kit in a Silver Foil finish that bounces sunlight away and builds a one-of-one patina with wear.
