The US Armor Group is a one-stop shop for all things security, offering services ranging from cyber security to structural fortification to armored vehicles. And while the company already offers a wide range of thoroughly fortified rides, its latest addition to its armored fleet is almost certainly its most noteworthy, as the US Armor Group has just revealed a fully-armored, fully-electric Lucid Air Sapphire that just so happens to be the word’s fastest armored car.
The Armor Package
In order to turn the Lucid Air Sapphire into a rolling safe room, the US Armor Group has bestowed the vehicle with bulletproof glass that’s capable of withstanding .44 Magnum rounds. The car also gets doors and body panels fitted with a special composite armor that’s not only 10-times stronger than traditional ballistic steel, but is also five-times lighter.
This means the company is able to completely fortify the EV while only adding an additional 385lbs of weight — resulting in a curb weight of 5,336lbs. Keep in mind, this is just the vehicle’s base armor package, as the thing can also be upgraded in order to handle anything from explosives and grenades to larger assault and sniper rifle rounds.
Optional Upgrades
Alongside the suite of armor and bulletproof windows, the US Armor Group is also offering several additional security features as optional add-ons. This includes onboard poison gas detection and protection, a secure wifi package, electrified door handles, hidden gun ports, pepper spray dispensers, and a secure wifi package.
Performance Capabilities
Because the entire armor package adds less than 400lbs of added weight to the car, the US Armor Group’s armored Lucid Air Sapphire is able to largely maintain the normal Sapphire-spec EV’s extreme performance capabilities. Thanks to a tri-motor all-wheel drive powertrain cranking out 1,234hp and 1,430ft-lbs of torque, the armored EV can clock 0-60mph runs in around 2 seconds, and can still achieve a top speed of just over 200mph — the latter of which not only makes the armored Lucid Air Sapphire incredibly fast, but also makes it the world’s fastest armored car.

With over 1,200hp on tap, a sub-2-second 0-60mph time, and a top speed exceeding 200mph, the Lucid Air Sapphire is already an incredibly special vehicle. Above and beyond its ample fortification, what makes the US Armor Group’s armored Lucid Air Sapphire so special is the fact that it adds world-class security while barely compromising the performance of the all-electric supercar. This is a breathe of fresh air from normal armored vehicle platforms, which typically consist of full-size luxury SUVs and the like.
