Earlier this year, Italy-based Totem Automobili shocked the car world with a stunning electrified take on a 1960s Alfa Romeo Giulia GTA: the GT Electric. Built using a custom steel chassis, a torquey electric motor, and a full carbon fiber widebody, it was a car that proved just how breathtaking electromods can be. In fact, between its old-school cool and its cutting-edge componentry, the GT Electric has since inspired many similar creations aiming to emulate Totem’s success.

And those at Totem Automobili are no exception themselves. On the contrary, the company has just announced a second limited-run model — the GT Super — to serve as a stablemate alongside the GT Electric. Like its battery-powered predecessor, the Super is based around a classic Alfa Giulia at its core, modified with a top-notch double-wishbone suspension setup and some powerful Brembo brake calipers. It also sports a similar handmade carbon fiber body, with the donor car gaining widened wheel arches, auxiliary headlights up front, and a set of rounded taillights at the rear. However, where the GT Electric incorporated an 81kWh cell and a 582hp e-motor, the GT Super instead makes use of a 2.9L twin-turbo V6 and a sequential gearbox pulled from Alfa Romeo’s latest and greatest Giulia Quadrifoglio Verde. Making anywhere from 560hp and 516lb-ft to 620hp and 575lb-ft of torque, it provides all of the fun of the Electric — plus some added Italian soul.

Being a bespoke Totem build, the GT Super’s interior finishings are ultimately left up to the buyer. Accordingly, then, it’ll be both extremely rare and incredibly expensive, capped at just 20 units and priced starting at €460,000 (~$535,000).

Purchase: $535,000+
