Based in Los Angeles, Sean Wotherspoon has developed a reputation as one of America’s most eminent designers, having been tapped to pen products for everyone from adidas to Vespa to Nike. Around four-years-ago, Wotherspoon took a break for penning sneakers and streetwear in order to partner with Porsche on what would become the SW Taycan Art Car.

Fast-forward to today and Wotherspoon has once again linked up with the Stuttgart marque, this time to create a one-off 911 Dakar custom designed hand-in-hand with Ferdinand “Ferry” Ahorner.

The Backstory

Rather than linking up with Porsche’s design team, this one-of-one specimen was brought to life through a collaboration between the LA-based designer and Porsche founding family member Ferdinand “Ferry” Ahorner. And while it was designed by Ahorner and Wotherspoon, the one-off project was brought to life by Porsche Exclusive.

PTS Livery

After reaching out to Wotherspoon, the pair began penning this one-off 911 variant. Wotherspoon and Ahorner opted to bestow the vehicle with a custom “Nashy Blue” livery. Named after Wotherspoon’s son Nash, this light blue hue was originally introduced as one of the two new Paint To Sample colors that the designer whipped up for Porsche back in late May.

Now available as an upgrade option on the 992.2-gen 911 as well as on the 718 and Taycan lineup, this PTS color has been complemented by a set of five-arm wheels finished in gloss white, matching the white “Porsche” script adorning the sides of the car.

The Interior

The cabin of the vehicle sports a Crayon finish, off-white leather upholstery, and door panel and seat inserts decorated in what’s called “Sally Pepita” — a custom woven pattern that first appeared on the Porsche 911 Sally Special which saw the Sally Carrera from Pixar’s Cars brought to life.

Straight From The Horse’s Mouth

“Ferry wanted to utilize the Nashy Blue I developed with Porsche, and from there the spec began,” explains Wotherspoon. “We considered every piece from the stitching, to the wheels. This is truly a 1 of 1 Dakar.”
