Porsche’s Sonderwunsch programme has been turning customer dreams into rolling reality since the late 1970s, but the latest creation out of Stuttgart is one of its finest. The 911 Carrera T “Formosa” is a proper love letter to Taiwan, wrapped in one of the most cohesive design narratives we’ve seen from the bespoke division. Named after the Portuguese sailors’ 16th-century moniker for the island (translated to “Beautiful Island”), the one-off Formosa builds on the Carrera T’s purist foundation with exterior and interior touches that aim to capture Taiwan’s dramatic geography.

From Land to Sea
The exterior starts with Paint to Sample Ipanema Blue Metallic, a custom hue developed to mirror the Pacific waters surrounding Taiwan. Contrasting Suzuka Grey Metallic accents on the rear lettering, side window trim, and engine lid slats pay homage to the rugged rock formations along the east coast. The 20-/21-inch RS Spyder wheels continue the grey theme with Vanadium Grey inner rims, while black HD-Matrix LED headlights and Exclusive Design taillights are included as well.

Interior Craftsmanship
Open the door and you’ll see Paldao wood trim that nods to Taiwan’s mountainous greenery, while full bucket seats wear bi-color Truffle Brown and Black leather with Night Green stitching. The real showpiece is the newly developed “Formosa” checkered pattern in Night Green, Black, and Cream White — a bespoke textile that graces the seat inserts and the fully leather-lined front boot, complete with embroidered “Formosa” lettering. Meanwhile, illuminated door sill guards read “Formosa x Sonderwunsch,” and the headrests carry an embossed logo integrating a 911 Carrera T silhouette with wave and mountain motifs.

Purist Performance Intact
Underneath the bespoke skin, this Carrera T retains the lightweight construction, manual transmission, and sport-tuned suspension that make the T model the enthusiast’s choice in the 911 lineup. The 3.0-liter flat-six delivers 388 hp and 331 lb-ft of torque and is paired to a manual gearbox.
Each Sonderwunsch build is professionally realized by Porsche’s own development and design team, which means these cars are properly engineered and built to factory standards.
