After spending more than 20 years working for elite marques like BMW and Lotus, Adam Hawley founded Theon Design in 2016, putting his extensive skillset to use restomodding Porsches. Now recognized as one of the world’s most lauded Porsche tuners, the Oxfordshire-based outfit has built its reputation on the strength of its modernized 911s — the latest of which marks Theon Design’s first-ever air-cooled supercharged build.

Christened the BEL001, this fully-bespoke restomod is based on a 964-gen 911. Crafted by a leading F1 supplier, the BEL001’s 3D-modeled, widebody-style carbon fiber bodywork comes cloaked in an Aquamarine livery that’s based on a historic 1950s Porsche 356 color and complemented via yellow Porsche script. Meanwhile, the customized interior of the 911 features RECARO Touring seats adorned in custom-shaped foam and trimmed in custom soft tan leather — the same material used to upholster the bespoke cabin’s dash, rear quarter panels, and doors. The inside of the car has also received a Nardi steering wheel, a custom shift knob, a leather-wrapped carbon fiber center console, custom green and black gauges, and a magnetic wireless charger.

Under the BEL001’s rear decklid lies an air-cooled Rotrex supercharged 3.6-liter flat-six engine that’s been mated to a fully-rebuilt G50 five-speed manual gearbox and a new limited-slip differential. Also equipped with independent throttle bodies, flowed and ported heads, motorsport-grade Mahle barrels and pistons, Carillo con-rods, twin charge coolers, and a bespoke switchable, stainless-steel exhaust system with equal-length headers, the six-cylinder engine now cranks out 400hp and 367ft-lbs of torque. Developed in conjunction with renowned experts TracTive, the restomod’s suspension consists of a semi-active setup with switchable adaptive dampers. Weighing in at only 2,788lbs wet, the Porsche has also been bestowed with a leather-wrapped 964 RS strut-brace, custom-machined mirrors, and gold-finished Fuchs-inspired wheels.

While Theon Design’s first BEL001 911 build is already spoken for, the shop is currently accepting bespoke commissions that require an 18-month build time and start at  £380,000 (~ $458,700) — not including the cost of the 911 donor car.
