Each year, the SEMA Show in Las Vegas plays host to some of the most radical one-off concept vehicles in the world. And while most of these over-the-top projects are one-of-one builds created with no intentions of ever seeing the light of production, a few envelop-pushing SEMA builds do occasionally get earmarked for actually being produced and sold to the motoring public. One such vehicle comes to us from MODELLISTA — a subsidiary of the Toyota Motor Corporation founded in 1997 with the goal of delivering customized cars to the brand’s most discerning customers — which has just pulled the cover off of its all-new OVERLAND Vision Concept, which very well may enter production depending on the reception it receives over the coming weeks.

The Basics

The MODELLISTA OVERLAND Vision Concept is based on Toyota’s all-new 2025 Land Cruiser. And while this transformative project can still be identified as being based on the new eighth-gen 250-Series model, it’s still a far cry from the SUV’s stock form. The entire vehicle has been penned with a major focus on altering its appearance while still maintaining impressive go-anywhere capabilities.

Bespoke Bodywork

Rather than just slapping a bunch of custom parts onto the existing Land Cruiser, MODELLISTA has opted to take things one step further by penning a full suite of custom bodywork that now sits below its bevy of armor and off-road bits. This makes for an even more transformative project, though one that can still easily be identified as being a new Land Cruiser.

Off-Road Upgrades

What really allows the OVERLAND Vision Concept to shine is the generous slew of custom off-road elements. The concept features a ton of reinforced armor elements including armor cladding on the door panels and above the wheel arches, custom rock sliders, bespoke headlight brush guards, bush wires, a custom rear bumper, and a one-off front bumper with an integrated skid plate, integrated winch, and integrated tow points. It doesn’t end there, though — not even close — as MODELLISTA has also treated the concept to custom side-mounted gear containers with a polygonal design, a Cybertruck-esque horizontal LED strip running across the entire length of the hood/grille, a rear-mounted roof ladder, a full-length custom roof rack, and multiple integrated auxiliary LEDs and spotlights set in the grille assembly and front bumper. You also get flared fenders at all four corners, which open up space for the concepts larger wheels and tires and their increased suspension travel.

Under The Hood

While MODELLISTA hasn’t given any specifics on the concept’s powertrain, we assume it retains its 2025 Land Cruiser donor’s turbocharged 2.4-liter inline-four hybrid. Good for 326hp and 465ft-lbs of torque, the blown hybrid four-banger comes bolted to an eight-speed automatic transmission.

What Makes It Special

The OVERLAND Vision Concept has an incredibly unique appearance, drawing ample influence from contemporary custom off-road and overland builds and modern military vehicles, as well as clearly being inspired by the increasingly popular cyberpunk aesthetic. Above and beyond its radical, imposing looks, the concept was also engineered to actually perform, and boasts some truly impressive go-anywhere capabilities. More than that, it was also designed for use in both the city and backcountry, making it something of the ultimate adventure lifestyle vehicle thanks to its ability to serve as a daily commuter during the week while also boasting the ability to conquer tough-terrain on the weekends.
