Founded in London in 1962, Marshall Amplification is a thoroughly iconic British audio brand that’s best known for its amplifiers and their warm and unique sound. And with 2022 marking the 60th anniversary of the brand, Marshall has opted to celebrate the occasion by joining forces with fellow British outfit David Brown Automotive to deliver a limited run of Marshall Edition Mini Remastered specimens.
Riding on a special black wheel set with gold rims and lips, the Marshall Edition Mini boasts a slew of nods to the world-famous audio brand, including a redesigned grille that’s modeled after Marshall’s amps, custom instrumentation, bespoke AC units, a gold hand brake, and engraved gold pedals. As one would expect, this limited-edition Mini also sports a heavily upgraded sound system that includes a Marshall eight-speaker in-car surround sound system with dash-mounted tweeters, two door speakers, and upgraded parcel shelf speakers that are supplemented via a Pioneer infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration. There’s also a glove box with an induction charging point to juice up the pair of Marshall Motif A.N.C. wireless headphones that are included with the car, plus a leather-lined luggage compartment that features a fully-integrated, slide-out Marshall DSL1 Combo amplifier that’s linked up to an independent power supply, a Marshall Emberton Bluetooth speaker, and retro-inset dials displaying voltage and amperage.
The engine at the heart of the Mini Remastered example has also received numerous upgrades, with the standard 71-hp 1,275cc mill being swapped out for a 1,330cc A-series lump that makes 83hp and 98ft-lbs of torque, allowing for a 90-mph top speed and a 0-60mph time of under 9 seconds. On top of a fully bespoke interior with black leather upholstery juxtaposed via gold accent stitching, other modern amenities include AC, electronic windows, locks, and ignition, and power steering. Completing the package is a vintage-inspired racing helmet and goggle set that comes adorned in Marshall’s signature black and gold colorway that also adorns the vehicle’s exterior, along with custom Marshall badging.
Limited to just 60 individually numbered specimens worldwide, the Mini Remastered Marshall Edition By David Brown Automotive and Marshall Amplification is available for order now — in LHD and RHD versions — with deliveries scheduled to begin in late 2022.
