LEGO Revs Up Its Speed Champions Collection with a Countach & More

LEGO’s collection of Speed Champions models has captivated younger children and grown-up automotive enthusiasts alike. The beloved brand has paid homage to a wide variety of integral vehicles in automotive history through the collection, including the iconic 1974 Porsche 911 and the mightily powerful Lamborghini Urus. Now, LEGO is wheeling out some new additions and highlighting some sure-fire fan favorites.

Kicking off with the toymaker’s take on the emblematic eighties supercar, the sleek, white Countach model is composed of 262 pieces and features authentic details throughout, with the most notable being its 2-seat open cockpit. The brick-built wedge car even comes equipped with a Minifigure of a Lamborghini-clad driver. Next up in the new collection is a sporty duo featuring the Aston Martin Valkyrie AMR Pro, as well as the British marque’s Vantage GT3. This set is built from 592 pieces, making it the largest of these new additions.

Rounding out LEGO’s latest triumvirate of sets is a unique tribute to Lewis Hamilton, which features two cars in one box. This 564-piece package includes the Mercedes-AMG F1 W12 E Performance and Mercedes-AMG Project One, making for an incredible pair of builds that provide racing fans with some incredibly intricate small-scale tributes. Seeing as Hamilton is tied for the title of the winningest F1 driver of all time, it’s only right for LEGO to emulate the vehicle that brought him there in the one fashion they know how to.

It’s clear that these new models appeal to a wide variety of car lovers, and it’s only a matter of time until you can build them yourself. Each of these new builds will be available come March 1st starting from $20.
