Kuhl’s Lifted Land Cruiser 250 ‘Blocker Iron Build’ Is Wrapped In Steel Armor

Fresh off of wrapping up 2025 with their attention-grabbing GR86 Outroad, Japanese tuner Kuhl Racing is kicking off the new year with something even more audacious, transforming a Land Cruiser 250 into a towering, armor-plated fortress on wheels.

Kuhl has been in the game since 2007, evolving from a boutique body-kit shop into what many now call a “tuning empire” under the Kuhl Holdings Group. Their bread and butter has historically been show-stopping, often chrome-finished widebody builds. However, debuting with the new Iron Build, the new Blocker series marks a notable pivot for the brand, trading low-slung VIP aesthetics for aggressive, lifted off-road performance.

A Sky-High Stance

At the heart of the Iron Build is a comprehensive steel armor package that includes front and rear bumper guards, side steps, and chunky 2.8-inch diameter pipe fenders. There’s also a skid plate protecting the underbody and a full roof rack up top supporting a 40-inch IPF LED light bar. Kuhl even threw in a roof wing extension and a rear tailgate wing.

The real story here is the lift. Thanks to a height-adjustable suspension setup paired with JAOS spacers, the Land Cruiser now sits a full 7″ higher than stock. Combined with 22-inch Kuhl Verz DDR03 wheels wrapped in massive 37-inch Yokohama Geolandar M/T G003 mud-terrain tires, total ground clearance hits 15.7″. For perspective, that’s more than the already absurd Mercedes-AMG G 63 4×4² with its portal axles and triple locking differentials.

Design Philosophy

The Blocker series is essentially Kuhl’s answer to the overlanding trend, blending their signature three-dimensional presence with proper off-road hardware. Where their earlier work focused on lowered stance and aerodynamics, the Iron Build embraces utility in a different way.

That said, the 22-inch wheels are an interesting choice. While they certainly stand out (and match Kuhl’s penchant for dramatic styling), most serious off-roaders would opt for smaller wheels with more sidewall to absorb impacts. Then again, Kuhl has never been about playing it safe.
