Gunther Werks doesn’t really do subtle. Between the 1,067-hp Black Stealth Fighter that dropped earlier this month and a back catalog of carbon-clad, seven-figure 993 reimaginings, the California outfit has built its reputation on going further than anyone asked them to. But even by that standard, Project Endgame is something else.
It’s the brand’s farewell to its Speedster program, and they’re sending it off with the one thing no Speedster has ever had: a pair of turbochargers.

The Bookend Nobody Expected
Gunther Werks wrapped up its original Speedster run back in 2023, capping production at 25 open-top builds. And the brand’s Turbo program picked up where the Speedster left off, strapping twin turbos to Rothsport Racing’s 4.0-liter flat-six for a hardtop variant limited to 75 examples. Project Endgame is what happens when those two paths cross. It’s a Speedster body with the Turbo’s powertrain, making it the only drop-top Turbo the brand will ever build.
It’s a fitting sign-off to say the least. Every Speedster before this one revved to the stratosphere on natural aspiration. Endgame does the opposite, delivering 840 HP and 660 lb-ft through a six-speed manual, all in a car that weighs just 2,600 pounds.

Iron Man, But Make It Coachbuilding
Now the elephant in the room. Project Endgame is, unmistakably, a tribute to Marvel’s Iron Man franchise (for better or worse). The True Candy Red paint (which took three weeks to apply) mirrors Tony Stark’s armor, the 24-karat gold accents on the mirrors, headlight bezels, and intercoolers echo the suit’s gold plating, and the gold shift knob is set with six gemstones arranged in the shift pattern, a clear nod to the Infinity Stones. There’s even a replica arc reactor mounted between the seats.

Whether that resonates or reads as a touch much is going to depend on your tolerance for superhero ephemera on a million-dollar Porsche. Gunther Werks hasn’t confirmed who commissioned it, but the internet’s doing its usual math. Robert Downey Jr. is a known car guy with a collector show on HBO – so we’ll let you connect the dots here.

GWX Is the Real News
Endgame isn’t just the last Speedster. It’s the highest-profile showcase yet of GWX, Gunther Werks’ invitation-only bespoke coachbuilding program. Launched late last year with a three-unit Candy Purple coupe run, GWX is the brand’s answer to Singer’s bespoke commissions: unlimited personalization for clients who’ve already checked every box on the existing menu.

Project Endgame is what GWX looks like when a client has serious sway and serious taste (debatable, depending on where you land on the Marvel thing). Widened rear quarter panels accommodate the forced induction setup, the GW Evo carbon fiber wing makes its Speedster debut, and the cabin gets carbon-backed racing seats in red, black, and gold leather with Alcantara detailing throughout.
