First established in 2022, Grounded RVs is a Detroit-based marque that specializes in producing trailers and touring coaches for the modern EV era. And after recently debuting a modular pop-up trailer, the company has now revealed its next offering with the all-new fully-electric Grounded RVs G1 Campervan.
A fully battery-powered home on wheels for modern van life, the G1 is based on Ford’s all-electric E-Transit platform. The G1 draws from a built-in Ford high-voltage battery that offers a 108-mile range. What’s more, the G1’s roof has also been lined with a solar panel with 640 watts that provides energy for the house battery module that powers the van’s life support systems and appliances. The van’s electronics also pair with a dedicated smartphone app that allows the G1’s lighting, temperature, appliances, and treatment systems to be controlled, while also providing real-time access to driving data and fuel and water levels.
The inside of the van features an incredibly modular interior layout that can be configured in hundreds of different ways depending on the owner’s needs and intended use, with a slew of options for the placement and or inclusion of dinettes, a queen-sized bed, and seating units. There’s also ample space for storing garments and gear thanks to generously sized garage and overhead storage units. Other noteworthy elements include a surprisingly well-appointed kitchen complete with a fridge, freezer, sink, and induction stove, plus a dry-flush toilet and an outdoor shower. Like all adventure vans, Grounded RV’s G1 also lends itself to further customization an area furthered by the RV’s incredibly modular nature.
Expected to debit deliveries later this year, the Grounded RVs G1 Campervan will start at $125,000, though will also be offered via a subscription model starting at $2,300 (with a one-year minimum plan).
