While there are plenty of annual car shows in the U.S. each year, the Specialty Equipment Market Association — or “SEMA,” as it’s better-known — has become the go-to event for both automakers and aftermarket outfits to debut custom vehicle builds. And with the 2021 SEMA Show now only a few short weeks away, Ford has opted to give the motoring public a preview of some of its one-off wares that it will be presenting in Vegas.
Comprised of half-a-dozen custom Bronco builds — two of which are based on the SUV’s Sport spec — Ford’s 2021 SEMA projects aim to demonstrate the customization and modification potential of the modular new model, primarily through the use of Genuine Ford Parts, Ford Licensed Accessories, and Ford Performance Parts, as well as a few aftermarket items here and there. This includes an off-road-ready Badlands series Bronco-based “RTR Fun-Runner” built by Vaughn Gittin Jr. and RTR Vehicles, a firetruck-style Black Diamond series Bronco courtesy of BDS Suspensions, a sporty road-going Bronco build from CGS Performance Products, a luxurious yet still all-terrain-capable Bronco “BAJA FORGED” build, and a modern Bronco-based tribute to Parnelli Jones and Bill Stroppe’s 1970s-era Baja 1000-winning “Big Oly” desert racer — the latter two of which were built by LGE-CTS Motorsports. The most noteworthy of the six builds, however, is undoubtedly Tucci Hot Rods’ 8 Series quad-snow track-equipped Bronco that was engineered to take on deep snow and ice.
All six of Ford’s custom Bronco builds are slated to make their official public debuts at this year’s rapidly approaching 2021 SEMA Show, which is scheduled to run from November 2nd through the 5th.
