California-based startup Drako Motors made headlines a few years ago with its head-turning GTE, an all-electric hypercar with a top speed of over 200mph. So, it was only a matter of time until the Silicon Valley engineers showed off another blistering build — introducing the Dragon, Drako’s remarkable new EV SUV.

Touted as “the world’s first production SUV with a full carbon fiber structure,” the Dragon’s chassis is roughly 50% lighter than a standard SUV’s, all the while offering far more capabilities across the board regardless. Moreover, Drako also claims that the Dragon is the “most powerful, quickest, and fastest production hyper-luxury SUV” ever, boasting a 2,000 horsepower electric drivetrain and a 0-60 of 1.9 seconds. All of this is packed into a strikingly elegant, aerodynamic build, accentuated by head-and-taillights with digital visual cues and premium LEDs to promote maximum visibility when necessary.

Once its power-operated gullwing doors open, you are greeted by a luxe interior with an exceptional balance of function and design, made possible by the innovative marque’s Quad Motor architecture that paves the way for more interior space. It is fully kitted with a rear-seat entertainment system, luxe leather and carbon fiber, and a sleek steering wheel featuring all the essential driving controls at your disposal. Additionally, its massive 17” touchscreen infotainment center is as user-friendly as it gets. Most of all, Drako’s proprietary DriveOS system operates in a matter of nanoseconds, deeming it fast all around.

While it may seem hard to believe, the Dragon is far from a concept and is available to reserve now on Drako’s website, starting from $290,000.
