As clear fans of the automotive space, we’re no stranger to seeing bespoke keys paying tribute to some of history’s most iconic models. While we’re used to seeing such keys made for exclusive supercars or classic European sports cars, we’d hadn’t seen much action in the genre of Japanese sports cars… until now, that is, and BUILTBYLEGENDS is to thank for that. As a form of homage to Nissan’s late-20th-century JDM icons, the brand’s new IMONO Key can start up a quartet of tuner-friendly classics.
The IMONO is designed in Tokyo and crafted from sleek 303 stainless steel through an intricate lost wax casting process to ensure a refined sense of craftsmanship. The keys are then individually hand-milled and treated with a RAYDENT coating for durability’s sake. The key can be applied to Nissan’s beloved Skyline GT-R, as well as the Silvia, 240SX, and certain Z Car models.
The Japanese-made piece of gear is sure to bring out the enthusiast in you. Available in two distinct styles, BUILTBYLEGENDS is also selling a special edition IMONO key made in collaboration with MINE’S, the esteemed Yokosuka-based tuning firm that is well-known for its R32 Skyline restomod.
Whether you own a classic JDM sports car or not, we assure you that this is a key that you will never want to lose. Though not expected to ship until June 1, you can pre-order your own IMONO Key now on BUILTBYLEGENDS’ site, starting from JPY 26,000 (~$204).
