Though the Mercedes G-Wagen is already an incredibly powerful and highly-capable full-size luxury SUV, that hasn’t stopped the tuning experts at German firm BRABUS from repeatedly bestowing its signature performance parts treatment onto the G63 platform. And after an extended hiatus from building six-wheeled models, the tuner has once again revisited the 6×6 genre for its latest release, the all-new BRABUS XLP 900 6×6 Superblack.

Built on the Mercedes-AMG G63 SUV, this go-anywhere 6×6 rig is kicked along by BRABUS’ in-house developed and tuned Rocket 900 V8. Sitting under a custom carbon engine cover, this 4.5-liter, twin-turbocharged eight-banger cranks out 922ft-lbs of torque and 900hp — with the latter figure being responsible for the “900” in the vehicle’ monicker. Coupled with a six-unit all-wheel drive system, these numbers ultimately allow the massive six-wheeled steed to clock 0-60ph runs in 5.2 seconds and reach an electronically-limited top speed of 130mph.

The latest addition to the BRABUS XLP high-performance pickup platform that first debuted in 2020, the XLP 900 6×6 SuperBlack is built on a longer ladder frame and comes loaded with independent suspension with custom portal axles and an enormous 18.6” of ground clearance. On top of its usual exposed carbon fiber body package, this off-road-focused model also features an integrated front winch, a custom headache rack, and a roof rack that acomdates a front LED light bar. The truck also rides on half a dozen forged BRABUS Monoblock HD wheels shod ih all-terrain tires. Boasting seating for five plus an extended pickup bed, the SUV also features BRABUS’ signature interior conversion, which, as per usual, is brimming with exposed carbon and a triangular stitch pattern.

Released alongside the BRABUS XLP 800 6X6 Adventure, the 2024 BRABUS XLP 900 6×6 Superblack is available now in limited numbers, with pricing starting at €1,186,000 (~ $1,287,000)
