Since the company’s inception in 1977, BRABUS has built a name for itself as one of the most renowned luxury tuners on the planet, however, over the course of its 45-year history, the German tuner has almost exclusively worked with Mercedes-Benz vehicles. This is now changing, as the Bottrop-based brand has now unveiled its first-ever model built around a Porsche — as well as its first-ever high-performance EV offering — with the new BRABUS Porsche Taycan Turbo S.
Unveiled alongside the tuner’s all-new BRABUS 820 – an 820-hp BRABUSized take on the Porsche 911 Turbo S Cabriolet — the BRABUS Porsche Taycan Turbo S was created using state-of-the-art 3D scanning and CAD to ensure ultra-exact tolerances. BRABUS has treated the Porsche EV to a full carbon bodywork with refined aero work that allows for an even more slippery frag coefficient. This includes a front facelift that reduces front-axle lift at high speeds, along with side air intakes, a new grille surround, and a revised front fascia that funnels cold air onto the car’s brakes. The vehicle has also been treated to custom carbon rocker panels, flared wheel arches, three-piece spoiler, and diffuser, with the latter two helping to mitigate rear-axle lift and bolster stability at high speeds.
In addition to bright green brake calipers and a set of 22” BRABUS Monoblock Z “PLATINUM EDITION” forged wheels that were tailor-made specifically for the Taycan, the German tuner’s take on the Taycan Turbo S also gets a new suspension package with a special control module for the adaptive air suspension that lowers the vehicle’s ride height by 20-millimeters (0.8”). Inside, this modified Taycan boasts all-new quilted upholstery with bright green accents and BRABUS branding and badging throughout, and a carbon trim and sill package. Interestingly, BRABUS has opted to leave the Taycan Turbo S’ 560-kW (750-hp) motor untouched, meaning this upgraded version of the high-performance EV will presumably maintain the stocker’s 278-mile range, 161-mph top speed, and 2.8-second 0-62mph time.
Available now in limited numbers, the BRABUS Porsche Taycan Turbo S has been priced at €327,445 (~$346,800) — a $160,000 premium over the Taycan Turbo S’s $187,400 MSRP.
