In decades prior, automobiles with powertrains making close to 1,000hp were primarily limited to drag racers and other track-only creations. In more recent years, these otherworldly power figures have began appearing not only on supercars and hypercars, but also on more ordinary luxury vehicles. Case in point; the latest automotive release from world-renowned tuning firm BRABUS; a Mercedes-AMG S 63 E Performance that’s now good for well-over 900hp.
Taking the AMG S 63 E Performance’s capabilities to new heights, the BRABUS 930 sees the AMG donor’s 4.0-liter hybrid V8 engine fitted with a custom-developed twin turbocharger setup with 2.0” compressors and a redesigned carbon RamAir intake arrangement. This massaging of the platform’s forced induction system ultimately allows the BRABUS 930 to now crank out a whopping 930hp and 1,113.7ft-lbs of torque — all of which is sent to the ground via an advanced all-wheel drive system. The vehicle’s massive power output also enables the thing to not only reach a top speed of 180mph, but it can also reach 60mph from a compete standstill in just 3.2 seconds — placing it on par with many of today’s latest and greatest supercars.
In the German tuner’s typical fashion, the work on the 930 didn’t end with just the upgrades found under the hood. This massively up-specced AMG model also benefits from a full carbon body package that includes a carbon front spoiler and aprons, carbon grille insets, carbon fender attachments, a carbon rear diffuser, and a carbon spoiler. The entire car also rides on a 22” set of 10-spoke design BRABUS Monoblock ZM wheels. The inside of the car is just as impressive too. Trimmed in a combination of leather and Dinamica, the cabin of the car also sports a carbon interior package complete with a carbon steering wheel, carbon pedal set, and all-carbon trim. Matching the cabin’s diamond-stitched pattern is the trunk, which is also lined in quilted leather.
Produced in limited numbers, the BRABUS 930 is available for order now with pricing starting from €384,435 (~ $418,500).
