As one of the outdoor world’s most luxurious names, Bowlus has long been one of the space’s best RV manufacturers. Now, in an effort to push the envelope even further, the world leader is going fully electric, aiming to deliver a zero-emission camping experience that benefits you, your loved ones, and the planet.
Bowlus suggests that its significant decision to strive for unsaturated sustainability is much in part to its Volterra, the first-ever all-electric RV that the company released less than a year ago. From this point on, though, each of its envy-inducing models will be digitized, including the Terra Firma and newly-released Heritage. Accounting for its aerodynamic build and signature design language, the company claims that there couldn’t be a better option to haul on your next adventure, especially with its streamlined look paving the way for a weight range of 2,500-4,000 pounds. In other words, you don’t need a whole truck to travel with any Bowlus build, as they are typically capable of being towed using a more efficient vehicle, ultimately promoting a zero-emission experience through and through.
What stands out most about this new announcement is that it sets a major standard for what we can expect (or at least hope) to see from Bowlus’ competitors. To that point, company CEO Geneva Long claims that “Where most RV brands use old technology involving propane and gas or traditional batteries, we are making new ground, just like we always have. Picture yourself enjoying nature without the noise of a generator – it’s a fully immersive experience to be all-electric.” Operationally, the Bowlus Power Management System (powered by a <17kWh battery) works alongside the company’s Aersolar Solar tech, providing the opportunity to get things done without fossil fuels.
And while this game-changing announcement only came about this morning, Bowlus has announced that these all-electric versions are up for grabs today, starting from $159,000 for the 3,500-pound Heritage.
