Founded in 2005, DriverSource is an industry-leading automotive dealership that specializes in exotics and classics. Rather than just selling elite cars, the Texas-based outfit offers a one-stop shopping experience for discerning automotive enthusiasts and collectors, with a renowned service department and a secure onsite storage facility. The company’s sterling reputation has also made it a go-to choice for collectors looking to thin their herd — as evidenced by this stunning collection of Ferraris from DriverSource that is now headed to auction.
Instead of relying on its regular sales system, for this collection of Italian exotics, DriverSource has opted to partner with Bring a Trailer to sell off each specimen through the online automotive auction giant. Taking its name from the signature gated transmission setups found in Prancing Horse models, the Gated Collection consists of a dozen different Ferrari models from across four decades of production.
Making up a diverse selection of Prancing Horse examples, the collection features a 1971 365 GTB/4, a 1973 246 GTS Dino, a 1973 246GT Dino, a 1976 308 GTB, a 1977 308 GTB, a 1986 Testarossa, a 1989 328 GTS, a 1993 512 TR, a 1994 348 Spider, a 1996 F355, a 2001 360, and a 2005 612. And while each example varies in mileage and age, every car in the Gated Collection is in absolutely immaculate condition.
Thus far, the Gated Collection’s first five Ferrari examples have already gone up on BaT, with a 1971 365 GTB/4 Daytona Berlinetta, a 1973 Dino 246 GT, a 1973 Dino 246 GTS, a Euro-market 1976 308 GTB Vetroresina, and a 15,000-Mile 2005 612 Scaglietti six-speed specimen — that have reached prices ranging from $100,000 to $510,000, respectively, with at least 12 days left on each sale. All cars from the Gated Collection are located at DriverSource’s headquarters in Houston, Texas.
