In 2019, Aston Martin joined forces with legendary British moto brand Brough Superior to deliver a 100-unit run of ultra-cutting-edge track-only superbikes known as the AMB 001. After all 100 units sold out, the two British firms have once again joined forces, this time to deliver an even more capable circuit-only two-wheeler that takes inspiration from the Valkyrie AMR Pro track hypercar.
Limited to only 88 units worldwide, the new model is known as the AMB 001 PRO. At the heart of the bike is a completely redesigned water-cooled 997cc 88 ̊ V-twin engine that’s mated to an APTC slipper clutch that now cranks out 225hp — a 25% increase in power over the original AMB 001 from 2019. This ultimately affords the motorcycle a power-to-weight ratio of 1.28 hp/kg — placing it on par with AMR’s Formula 1 race car. What’s more, the belly-pan-exiting exhaust of the original AMB 001 has also been replaced with a superbike-style pipe mounted beneath the seat. Boasting a 396-pound dry weight, the AMB 001 PRO is constructed around a CNC Aluminum frame that uses the two-wheeler’s engine as a stressed member. The bike comes cloaked in all-carbon fiber bodywork and rides on 10-spoke carbon fiber wheels with a rear carbon aero-disc cover. Running gear on the PRO-spec model includes dual radial-mount four-pot calipers, and a fully-adjustable billet Fior-type fork with twin articulated triangular links.
The AMB 0001 PRO’s aero kit has also been upgraded and now features new side wings, a fixed front cowl, a new front spoiler, a rear fin with an aero stabilizer, a new windshield, and a tunnel effect air blade that all collectively increase downforce while also directing airflow over the rider. The nose cowl and tank of the PRO-spec AMB 001 also sports the Aston Martin Valkyrie program’s chemically etched aluminum ‘lacewing’ badge that’s only 70 microns thick — which is 30% thinner than a human hair. Modeled after Aston Martin Racing’s competition liveries, the AMB 001 PRO comes adorned in a Verdant Jade race paint job juxtaposed by matte-finished carbon fiber, black Cerakote engine and suspension, and Photon Lime accents.
The Aston Martin x Brough Superior AMB 001 PRO is available for preorder now, with pricing set at €148,900 (~ $150,000).
