Remember when car interiors came in colors that would make your eyes hurt and nobody batted an eye? Porsche certainly does, and they’re bringing that funky 1970s energy back with their new 911 Spirit 70. Limited to just 1,500 units worldwide, this special-edition convertible might be the most visually arresting Heritage Design model Porsche has ever created—and that’s saying something.

More Than Just Retro Stickers

Based on the current 911 Carrera GTS Cabriolet, the Spirit 70 isn’t just some appearance package slapped on a standard car. Underneath its throwback skin lies Porsche’s latest T-Hybrid powertrain, combining a 3.6-liter flat-six with an electric motor and eTurbo system for a combined 532 horsepower and 449 lb-ft of torque. That’s plenty of grunt to go with the funky aesthetics.

But let’s be honest, nobody’s buying this car for the powertrain. The star of the show is the absolutely head-turning Olive Neo paint that Porsche developed specifically for this model. It’s reminiscent of vintage appliances found in late mid-century homes, and it’s gloriously period-correct. The black windshield frame and soft top create a striking visual contrast, while center-locking Sport Classic wheels in Bronzite complete the look.

For the full 1970s racing vibe, Porsche adds hood stripes with an elongated “911” logo, side decals featuring your choice of racing number, and a vintage Porsche crest nearly identical to the one used in 1963. If that all sounds a bit much, Porsche will let you delete the decals – but honestly, why would you?

The Return of the Legendary Pasha

The real magic happens when you open the door. Inside, you’re greeted by what might be the most gloriously disorienting upholstery pattern ever created – the legendary Pasha. Inspired by waving checkered flags, this trippy checkerboard design is comprised of varying rectangle sizes creating an almost 3D optical illusion. Originally offered on models like the 924, 928, and 911 in the 1970s and early ’80s, the Pasha pattern has become something of a holy grail for Porsche enthusiasts.

Porsche has faithfully recreated this mind-bending design using modern materials, combining textile and flock yarn instead of the original velour. The Pasha pattern covers the center panels of the 18-way power seats, door inserts, and even the inside of the glove compartment. For no extra cost, you can also get the dashboard trim and seat backrests done in Pasha, just in case you weren’t feeling disoriented enough.

The modernized gauge cluster keeps the retro vibe going with green digits and white pointers, a nod to classic Porsches of yore. Even the Sport Chrono stopwatch gets the same treatment. It’s an incredibly thorough execution that still manages to work with the 992-generation 911’s otherwise thoroughly modern cabin.
