In an effort to tap into a younger, hipper demographic without tarnishing its premium nature, Ducati launched its Scrambler sub-brand roughly a decade ago back in 2014. Within the first few years of its debut, the retro-inspired Scrambler lineup was already accounting for over-a-quarter of the firm’s overall sales, ultimately prompting the Borgo Panigale marque to deliver more and more additional model variants — the latest of which to break cover is the new 2025 Ducati Scrambler Icon Dark.
Blacked-Out Bits
While Ducati’s regular Scrambler Icon is offered in three base colors and with over-half-a-dozen cover kit color options, the Icon Dark is available exclusively in a completely blacked-out color way. Murdered-out details on the thing include a matte black painted fuel tank, black engine and timing-belt covers, black fenders, a murdered out headlight cover, a black exhaust heat shield and black aluminum muffler, blacked-out wheels, a black leather seat, and blacked-out framework.
Onboard Tech
Despite its distinctive retro styling, the 2025 Scrambler Icon Dark is still a brand-spanking-new Ducati, and as such unsurprisingly comes outfitted with a generous host of cutting-edge onboard tech such as a connected 4.3” TFT display, a Ride-by-Wire throttle, traction control, and an LED headlight with X-shaped DRLs, and multiple ride models. The bike also comes ready to accept the Ducati Multimedia System and Ducati’s bi-directional quick-shifter.
Air-Cooled L-Twin
Kicking the Scrambler Icon Dark along is a classic air-cooled Ducati L-Twin engine. Utilizing a Desmo valve setup, Eeectronic fuel injection, and 50mm throttle bodies backed by a Ride-by-Wire system, this 803cc twin cranks out 73hp and 48ft-lbs of torque.
Hardware & Running Gear
The Scrambler Icon Dark is constructed around one of the Italian firm’s signature steel trellis frames and features an inverted fork and a rear mono-shock — both of which are adjustable and come courtesy of Japanese suspension specialist and supplier Kayaba. The two-wheeler is brought to a stop via a quad-pot front caliper with a 330mm disc and a single-piston unit in the rear with a 245mm rotor — both of which benefit from the use of Bosch Cornering ABS as standard.
Two-Wheeled Blank Canvas
Like every other member of the Scrambler Ducati lineup, the new Icon Dark is not only engineered to be as modular and conducive to customization as possible, but it’s also offered with an enormous host of available factory add-ons and accessories to easily personalize the bike and make it your own.
