Earlier this year, Mercedes-Benz introduced the motoring world to its newly-redesigned 2024 E-Class sedan. As expected, the German marque has now followed up the W214-gen sedan with a sport wagon counterpart in the form of the new 2024 Mercedes-Benz E-Class All-Terrain.
The E-Class All-Terrain Wagon is powered by the E450 sedan’s same newly-unveiled hybrid 3.0-liter inline-six powertrain. Generating 375hp and 369ft-lbs of torque, this hybrid engine allows the wagon to clock 0-60mph runs in a respectable 4.6 seconds along with a top speed that’s been electronically limited to 130mph. And, while it’s an available option on the sedan, the wagon comes standard with AIRMATIC single-chamber air suspension, which offers increased ground clearance and continuously adjustable rebound and compression damping. The wagon can also be lowered by up to 0.60” when cruising at speeds of over 75mph.
While its hybrid powertrain and suspension are undeniably noteworthy, what really makes the new E-Class All-Terrain Wagon so special, is its suite of cutting-edge tech.Outfitted with a 5G communication module, the new Benz features a 12.3” instrument cluster supplemented via a 14.4” central touchscreen and an available 12.3” passenger display, plus an optional illuminated grille surround with two optical fiber bundles positioned behind the chrome strips that receive light from LED modules. This trio of displays benefits from an all-new central onboard computer, ad does the car’s MBUX infotainment system. The vehicle can also now be unlocked and started using a digital vehicle key on an iPhone or Apple Watch. Equipped with 21.7cu-ft of cargo space though able to be expanded to 64.6, the wagon also boasts more elbow room and more passenger legroom — making it more spacious than its predecessor, as well.
The 2024 Mercedes-Benz E-Class All-Terrain Wagon is slated to hit dealerships next year, and while pricing has yet to be revealed, we anticipate an MSRP in the ballpark of $80,000.
