KTM first introduced the 390 Duke back in 2013. This sub-half-liter model instantly caught the attention of the motorcycling world, as it stood as a new rider-friendly platform that boasted a slew of high-end features typically reserved for more premium full-size bikes. Over the years, the Austrian outfit has unveiled numerous updated takes on the “Baby Duke,” though for the 2024 model year the entry-level naked is being treated to its most substantial revision to date.

Taking ample visual inspiration from its bigger 790, 890, and 1290 siblings, the 2024 model year 390 Duke sports an angular tank that feeds into a set of pointy and aggressive-looking radiator covers. The entire motorcycle is constructed around an all-new two-piece trellis-style chassis design with a pressure die-cast aluminum subframe and an off-set rear WP APEX Separate piston shock that comes mated to a new curved cast aluminum swing-arm. The front end of the bike has also been fitted with an upgraded 43mm WP APEX fork.

In addition to the all-new frame, this naked motorcycle also gets a new engine. Replacing the long-running 373cc thumper is an all-new 399cc single-cylinder LC4c single. Coupled with some clever tuning, the increase in displacement results in a noticeable bump in power with the 2024 model putting down 44.8hp and 28.7ft-lbs. This changes collectively result in a Baby Duke that’s not only faster, more powerful, and better handling, but also one that’s considerably better looking. In fact, we’d go as far as to say the 2024 390 Duke is the best-looking entry-level Sportbike currently in production. In typical KTM fashion, the Ready To Race brand is also offering a host of optional add-ons and accessories for the 390 Duke including available lever guards, axle sliders, and even an engine crash cage. There’s also an optional MotoGP-style silencer from Remus.

The 2024 KTM 390 Duke will be available for order in the coming months, though pricing has yet to be revealed. Alongside the 390 Duke, KTM has also unveiled new 2024 model year version of the Duke 125 and Duke 250 that benefit from these same changes.
