Each year, when the temperature begins to drop and snow starts to fall, the vast majority of off-road riders are forced to hang up their leathers for the season until the thaw arrives. However, with a snow bike conversion kit, one can enjoy riding year-round. And while there’s no shortage of companies producing immensely capable snow bike kits — such as Timbersled, Mototrax, and Camso — Canadian outfit YETI SnowMX has managed to hugely raise the bar in this space with the firm’s new and improved 2023 snow bike lineup.
Compatible with motocross bikes from Beta, GASGAS, Honda, Husaberg, Husqvarna, Kawasaki, KTM, Suzuki, and Yamaha, YETI’s 2023 range is comprised of three models: the 120 FR and 129 FR Freeride snow bikes and the 137 MT Mountain model. Constructed around a carbon fiber chassis, YETI’s 2023 snow bike kits feature a spindle that’s been redesigned to yield greater flexion and torsion rigidity, low-slip drivers, a new universal soft strut design, titanium, anodized aluminum, and stainless steel fasteners throughout, a HAYES pre-bled brake system with a factory-calibrated 11mm master cylinder and brake caliper, and a new ELKA Stage 3 suspension package with powder-coated steel front arms with STRENX reinforcements and 6061-T6 aluminum rear reactor arms that afford 16” of travel — though YETI also offers the option to upgrade to a Stage 5 kit.
Utilizing a simple plug-and-play fitment, all three models of kit also feature YETI’s next-generation track which sports a 12.5″ width, a narrow 5.5″ rail chassis, and slightly taller 2.6″ cup-shaped lugs, with the 120 FR and 129 FR sporting a 120” track and the 138 MT boasting a 137” unit. The 120 and 129 FR models and the 137 MT also benefit from a clever Syncrodrive system that connects the motorcycle’s rear sprocket, is crafted from a cold impact-modified nylon, and benefits from a DID520VOX chain drive and a 1.063” hex titanium seven-tooth sprocket.
Available for preorder now, the 2023 YETI SnowMX 120 FR and 129 FR Freeride models are priced at $6,639 and $7,539, respectively, while the 137 MT Mountain model carries an MSRP of $7,939. Offered in half-a-dozen color options, all three bikes can also be custom configured on the YETI SnowMX website. Additional optional items are also available for the trio of snow bikes, including a Bogie wheel set, a rear cargo rack, and a spoked wheel kit (for transporting the Snowbike).
