The Overland Expo has massively grown and expanded since its inaugural event was held over a decade ago. The event’s organizers now hold the Overland Expo in four locations across the U.S. (East, West, PNW, and MTN West), each of which attracts some of the biggest names and brands in the off-road, overland, camping, and expedition spaces. In addition to putting together and organizing the expos, those behind the event have also recently been partnering with a myriad of aftermarket brands and partners that attend the expos to build out what they call “the ultimate overland vehicles.” Now done for the third year in a row, the Overland Expo team has now pulled the cover off of its latest two-wheeled ultimate Overlander, this time fully kitting out Triumph’s already immensely off-road-capable Tiger 1200 Rally Pro.
Coming on the heels of the expo’s freshly unveiled 2023 ultimate overland vehicle Lexus LX600 truck, Triumph’s shaft-driven adventure tourer has been bestowed with a generous slew of off-road-focused upgrades in order to bolster its long-range go-anywhere capabilities. Providing more than 100 collective liters of storage space is a Mosko Moto Backcountry Pannier and Duffel kit that’s 100% waterproof and made from an insanely-rugged combination of Hypalon and 1,680-denier ballistic nylon. Mosko Moto’s flagship product, this suite of adventure luggage also benefits from a quick-mount wedge system and a proprietary ‘Speed-Pin’ latch. The 147-hp 1,160cc triple at the heart of the bike has been left untouched, though it’s now fortified behind a 5.0mm-thick aluminum skid plate from Outback Motortek, which also supplied the project’s side pannier frames, rear-luggage rack, and upper and lower crash bars — the latter of which are frame-mounted and feature reinforced connection brackets.
Riding on a set of Bridgestone Battlax Adventure Cross AX41 tires, the Tiger has also been treated to a top-shelf Denali Electronics lighting suite including the brand’s D7 and D2 Light Pods and T3 Modular Switchback Signal Pods, plus a Soundbomb Mini Horn — all of which are controlled by a second-gen CANsmart controller. The bike’s rider’s quarters now also feature a spring-loaded RAM Quick-Grip phone holder, Barkbuster hand guards, Doubletake Mirrors, and a two-liter hydration reservoir-equipped 7-liter ballistic nylon Nomax Tank Bag also from Mosko Moto. The Triumph also totes an oversized OPTIMA Orange Top battery, a Redverz limited-edition Atacama Expedition Motorcycle Tent, and an onboard Helinox camp chair and field table. The project’s final touch comes in the form of a custom world map-themed graphics kit wrap courtesy of Taco Moto Co.
Just like last year’s ultimate overland vehicles, the 2023 Tiger 1200 Rally Pro (and the Lexus LX600) will be displayed at this year’s expos, before later being auctioned off via Bring a Trailer where all proceeds will go to the Overland Expo Foundation — a nonprofit that seeks to advance the protection of public lands, complete trail restorations, and take on other endeavors that aim to benefit and preserve Overlanding’s culture and community.
