Based in Madrid, OX Motorcycles is a Spanish electric motorcycle startup founded in 2019. Thus far, the company’s lineup has consisted of its retro-styled flagship ONE electric motorcycle, and several electric scooters sold under its OX MOB brand — a sub-division of OX that aims to appeal to a younger, hipper demographic. And, despite the lion’s share of the firm’s history having occurred amidst a global pandemic, OX Moto has now significantly expanded its model range to include the new OX Patagonia and OX MOB DUK models.
The Patagonia is based on OX’s ONE model, though has been given the bonafide scrambler treatment that sees its vintage-inspired design bestowed with a grilled, cowling-set LED headlight, crash bars, a skid plate, knobby tires, a set of 14-liter leather saddlebags, a rear grab handle, high-mounted fenders fore and aft, and a more off-road-friendly 19” front spoked rim and 17” six-arm cast rear wheel. The changes aren’t just cosmetic, however, as the Patagonia has a ride height that’s 1.9” taller than the ONE’s, plus a wheelbase that’s 1.9” longer, a more upright riding position, and suspension that offers an additional 2.3” of travel. Drawing from a removable 72V 60Ah battery with a five-hour charge time, the bike is powered by an 11kW in-hub motor that, with the battery, affords the Patagonia a 61-mile range and a nearly 70-mph top speed.
The DUK is a lightweight electric dirt bike that boasts street-legal status. Boasting a similar design to SUR-RON and Segway e-dirt bikes, this electric dual-sport model packs an 8-kW electric motor paired with a chain final drive and a 72V 30Ah battery that affords a range of up to 93 miles and requires just two hours of charging for a complete recharge. Tipping the scales at only 176lbs, this nimble eBike offers a top speed of 52mph, though the company also sells a version with a restricted top speed of 28mph.
The 2023 OX MOB DUK is scheduled to begin deliveries in October of 2022 and will be priced starting from €6,090 (~ $6,525). And while a delivery date has yet to be announced, the 2023 OX Motorcycles Patagonia is available for reservation now, with pricing starting at €6,900 (~$7,395).
