Mandrill’s M-TWO SxS Blurs the Line Between UTV and Supercar

Mandrill Automotive launched a few years ago with the idea of evolving the capabilities and performance of your typical SxS to where the line between a workhorse UTV and a supercar could actually become blurred. Following the success of its electric M-ONE prototype, the German firm has already started on its successor.

However, comparing the new M-TWO to the M-ONE should be a discussion in innovation rather than succession. Where Mandrill’s first EV endeavor delivered 1,771lb.ft of torque from a 34kWh lithium-ion battery, the upgrade gets a whopping 4,278lb.ft of torque and 201hp of power from a 43kWh battery.

Charging up to 80% in just 30 minutes, this street-legal beast of burden has a max payload of 1,543lbs and a tow rating of 2,654lbs for any cargo you’ll need to transport from point A to point B. On the flip side, the M-TWO boasts a top speed of 84mph and a staggering 0 to 60 time of 2.3 seconds, with both race-spec components and IP67/IP69 waterproof ratings for good measure. To help it reach its 186-mile range, the SxS rides on off-road CST Sahara M/T II 3D-block tires.

Mandrill hopes to launch a crowdfunding campaign soon to help bring the M-TWO to fruition. You can subscribe to the company’s newsletter for updates.
