IWC & Hot Wheels Join Forces for a Limited-Edition Run of Ti Pilot’s Watches

In July of 2020, IWC partnered with Hot Wheels to deliver a limited edition run of 1:64-scale replicas of the IWC Racing team’s “Euro Hauler” — a transport truck for the race squad’s HK-Engineering-prepped 1955 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Gullwing. And after the success of the first joint effort between the two companies, the Swiss luxury watchmaker has once again joined forces with the iconic toy car manufacturer to produce an ultra-limited-edition run of IWC x Hot Wheels Racing Works Edition Pilot’s Watch Chronographs.

This special edition version of the Pilot’s Watch Chronograph features a 43mm case crafted from grade 5 titanium that houses the in-house 69385 Calibre automatic chronograph movement with a 46-hour power reserve. A smoked sapphire glass caseback puts the engine on display beneath a racing #68 — the figure adorning the side of the IWC Racing SL. The dial on the Racing Works Edition Pilot’s Watch Chronograph is adorned with a dynamic laser-engraved checkered flag design that surrounds the three chronograph registers, while the 9 o’clock side of the titanium case features an engraved “Hot Wheels” logo, further distinguishing this limited edition variant from the standard Pilot’s Watch Chronograph.

Limited to only 50 units worldwide, the IWC x Hot Wheels Pilot’s Watch Chronograph Racing Works Edition is priced at approximately $12,660 and includes the timepiece as well as a 1:64-scale Hot Wheels Mercedes-Benz 300SL “Racing Works Edition” model made in Hot Wheels’ prototyping shop that features opening Gullwing doors and a graphics package penned by Hot Wheels veteran Steve Vandervate and IWC designer Nicholas Schmidt. The very first unit will also be auctioned off through Bonhams on October 22, where proceeds from the sale will go to the Two Bit Circus Foundation.
