There are a handful of respectable Land Rover customizers, rebuilders, and restoration companies out there, with more emerging every day. But, while the brand’s iconic 4×4 has been the recipient of almost every bespoke modification under the sun, it’s become increasingly clear that sometimes, a simple recreation is all it takes to be wildly successful. Now, thanks to Commonwealth Classics and Portuguese restoration company, Unique Masterpieces, buyers will be able to contract their own bespoke build with relative ease.
Commonwealth Classics has decided to adorn the overland legend in heritage-focused peripherals, staying true to the company’s stylistic roots. Oddly enough, the one-of-a-kind Defender still boasts a luxurious persona, thanks to implementations like custom-dyed canvas and leather, a built-in, cedar-lined humidor, and the possibility for aftermarket wood flooring. After arriving on the company’s website, you’ll be prompted to choose from a variety of Defender models, ranging from 1991 to 1995, as well as a pair of the vehicle’s original 200 Tdi or 300 Tdi inline-four turbodiesel engine offerings. From a selection of 90, 110, and 130 models, Commonwealth will allow buyers to outfit their Land Rover from head to toe; but for those who want to make things easier, they offer a number of different packages, including a performance-oriented “Signature Finish,” and a more traditional “Heritage Finish.” Depending on your tastes, the custom Defenders start off with a price tag of around $125,000, but can easily reach an excess of $135,000+. Head to the company’s website to inquire about your own bespoke build.
