Hamilton Revamps Its Khaki Navy Frogman Diver with a Sleeker Design

Hamilton has long stood as a watch brand that’s represented reliability and accuracy for seafarers, making technical-ready timepieces for the United States Navy’s divers, or Frogmen, since the 1940s with its Khaki Navy Frogman, which, aside from being adorned on the wrists of professional divers for over three-quarters of a century, has been featured in countless films as well.

A few years back, Hamilton relaunched the Khaki Navy Frogman with several updates, including a beefier 46mm case. Now, the Swiss manufacturer has relaunched the watch yet again, debuting four new variants in the process. The newest collection retains the large case diameter but retrofits the screw-down crown with a unique protector that arcs over the top of it, whereas previous models featured a locking system. The new iteration also trades in the typical titanium case for a stainless steel one and ditches the calendar window and the arrowed numerals on the 3, 6, and 9 o’clock positions in favor of uniform dashes, with the exception of an Arabic numeral 12 marker.

Nodding to the ocean itself is the waved tactical rubber strap, which comes in black and khaki colorways (a three-link stainless steel bracelet is also available). Along with the standard Navy Frogman dial in grainy black with white lumed numerals that’s available with either a black bezel insert or a natural stainless steel one, there is a stealth version that’s almost entirely blacked-out, with a case and bezel covered in PVD coating and black lume on the hands and indices. The new Frogman’s movement is the same in-house H-10 automatic with 80 hours of power reserve that powered the old version.

Water resistant down to 300m, the new Khaki Navy Frogman Automatic watches are available soon via Hamilton’s online store, starting at $1,195.

Purchase: $1,195+
