We’d be lying if we didn’t think the collaboration between prestige watchmaker H. Moser and streetwear brand UNDEFEATED were unusual, if not random. But upon witnessing the result of the dichotomous brands’ team-up, we’ll admit… defeat. When one considers the Swiss company’s willingness to think outside of the box, just like Moser did when creating an all-Vantablack timepiece for this year’s Watches and Wonders in Geneva, it makes sense that the brand would partner with the Los Angeles streetwear brand for something spectacular.
Urban culture is no stranger to haute horology, with an association formed between the two which coincides with the rise of hip-hop traced back to the 1980s. However, there have been very few times where watch brands and streetwear have collided outside of rap lyrics. Now, debuting in H. Moser’s relatively-new Streamliner series, the Streamliner Chronograph UNDEFEATED boasts a robust 42.3mm case and integrated bracelet made from DLC-treated anthracite gray steel that contrasts, appropriately, with the Black Tiger Camo fumé dial. The 12 o’clock position of the dial also sports UNDEFEATED’s five-tally logo in appliqué above printed H. Moser & Cie. script.
Moser achieved the dial’s camouflage print, which is a signature of UNDEFEATED, through engraving and applying several layers of lacquer for the desired color. With 54 hours of power reserve, the watch brand’s in-house Calibre HMC 902 self-winding movement powers the innovative chronograph complication, which not only has flyback functionality but also features centrally-mounted chronograph seconds and minute hands, negating the need for any sub-registers.
This watch is limited to just 76 pieces and will be sold via H. Moser’s website and select UNDEFEATED stores for $55,000 starting June 22. Those who purchase the rare timepiece will also receive a small capsule collection consisting of a matching wall clock and a tiger camo jacket.
