Porsche has no shortage of iconic designs, whether it be the legendary 911 or the clean accessories made by Porsche Design. One of the most iconic design motifs, the Pepita fabric, was originally offered as an optional feature on the 356 before becoming a standard amenity on later 911 models. To celebrate the history of this classic fabric, Porsche is teaming up with Vitra on a trio of chairs made of the Pepita material: the ID Trim L Pepita Edition office chair, the Eames Plastic Side Chair Pepita Edition, the Petit Repos Pepita Edition armchair.
Kicking the trio off, the ID Trim L Pepita Edition starts with Porsche’s signature Pepita fabric on the seat and back, and it comes with headrest covers made of high-quality leather embossed with the legendary Porsche Crest. You’re also getting an integrated FlowMotion mechanism providing forward tilt and seat depth adjustments for a customizable fit (bolstered by the adjustable lumbar support).
Next up, we have the Petit Repos Pepita Edition, also made with the same Pepita fabric and arriving in this clean black and white colorway. It’s made with a black maple base, a basic dark welted edge, and a dark foot base with felt gliders. Last but not least, the Eames Plastic Side Chair Pepita Edition takes inspiration from one of Eame’s most iconic chairs. All three chairs are made in Germany and will be part of a limited run.
The Pepita Edition by Vitra for Porsche drops exclusively online at 9 am CET on April 22, with the ID Trim L Pepita Edition office chair going for $2,530 (and limited to 911 units), the Eames Plastic Side Chair Pepita Edition going for $911 (limited to 1,963 units), and the Petit Repos Pepita Edition armchair going for $5,179 (limited to 99 units).
