Nike ACG’s Mountain Fly has been a predominant silhouette in the outdoor imprint’s catalog since it first hit shelves (and trails) back in 2020, so it was only a matter of time until the performance giant churned out a second iteration. The ACG Mountain Fly 2 is prepared to tackle countless outdoor activities and then some.

Although any significant differences between the original Mountain Fly and this are rather sparse, there are some notable ones, including the lack of a lower heel tab and re-designed lace mechanism; this one actually features a lace toggle to make adjusting tightness as easy as possible. The forthcoming release boasts a reinforced, elongated toe cap to guarantee maximum protection with every step you take; all the while, its rugged rubber sidewalls provide trusty stability when you’re taking on the unpredictable. On that note, you never know what to expect when trekking through the backcountry, so Nike tacked on a bike tire-inspired outsole to deliver all the traction your next adventure warrants.

And while the revamped silhouette assures nothing short of unrivaled defense, Nike didn’t skimp in the comfort department, basing the Mountain Fly 2 around a lightweight, breathable mesh upper that refrains from overheating and dries off as quickly as possible when they get a little damp. Moving below, the new design is placed atop a foam midsole and lightweight plate that extends from heel to toe, paving the way for virtually unrivaled support. Another key detail that makes the new hikers worth writing home about includes a semi-gusseted tongue to do away with pesky specks of dirt and debris.

Upon release, Nike ACG’s Mountain Fly 2 will only be available in one color: Laser Orange. However, we can expect to see several churned out over its shelf life. Pick your pair up on SNKRS for $150 starting April 14.
