In addition to boasting some of the best action and fight choreography in Hollywood, the John Wick movie franchise has routinely featured some of the most elite firearms and edge-weapons on the planet. And while the series’ titular character carried Microtech OTF knives for the first three installments, the fourth flick saw Wick arm himself with the Hawk Knife Designs Deadlock Model C — which is unequivocally the finest automatic out-the-front knife that money can currently buy.
To celebrate the Deadlock Model C’s appearance in JW4, Grant and Gavin Hawk have released a special edition Deadlock Model C OTF John Wick 4 Box Set that’s being produced in limited numbers.
The Basics
The Hawk Knife Designs Deadlock Model C OTF John Wick 4 Box Set aims to pay homage to the out-the-front knife’s appearance in the fourth film installment in the John Wick series. More specifically, this box set offers a nod to the scene in the fourth film where Wick is given a Taran Tactical TTI Pit Viper in a box set along with a Model C OTF. This limited edition box set makes reference to the screen-shown box with a limited edition version of the OTF knife, along with a few extra goodies that tie back to the Wick films.
The Knife
Anchoring the limited edition JW4 box set is a special version of Hawk Knife Design’s revolutionary Model C OTF, which is made from some of the most premium materials available — and is completely and totally devoid of any and all blade play whatsoever. Spanning 8.50” overall, the JW4-spec OTF is comprised of a titanium handle with black forged carbon fiber inlays and black DLC-coated titanium accents. Mated to the handle is a 3.50-inch double-edge dagger blade made from CPM MagnaCut. Both the blade and handle have been cloaked in a black DLC finish.
The Continental Challenge Coins
Rounding out this limited edition box set is a pair of prop Continental coins. Sporting the words “Ex Unitae Vires” — Latin for “From Unity, Strength” — these challenge coins are crafted from brass before being plated in 24-carrot gold.
The Prop Pencil
In addition to the knife, the box set also includes a special #2 pencil from Taran Tactical. Decorated in fake blood, this pencil pays homage to a fight scene from the franchise’s second installment where Wick uses a pencil to put down a baddie by forcing it through their ear. While admittedly a bit dark and morbid, the pencil is nonetheless a fantastic addition to the box set — and one that any Wick fan will instantly recognize.
The Bespoke Box
The entire box set comes housed inside a wooden box that comes courtesy of TK44 Customs. This beautifully crafted timber box sports a series of exterior alloy details and a Hawk Knife Designs logo adorning the top of the box. Inside, the thing boasts custom foam cutouts with bespoke “JW4,” “TK44 Customs,” and HKD logos. Each unit also ships with a certificate of authenticity that features each unit’s limited edition serial number, along with signatures from both Grant and Gavin Hawk.
