The outdoor brand’s Backpacking Line comes to shape by way of three separate series, those being the multi-faceted Versa, incredibly light Ultra, and mega sturdy Dura.
Each of these sleeping mats comes available in a wide variety of widths, sizes, and most importantly, warmth levels, providing any outdoorsman with a piece of equipment tailored to their next adventure. Starting with the Versa, this comes available in a pair of choices, the first of which is insulated by 60 g/m2 Texpedloft microfiber, while the second ups the ante with 160 g/m2. Moving on, the lightweight Ultra is geared toward activities like thru-hiking and backpacking. While there are three Ultra options available, the highlights include an air-insulated 1R Duo M, as well as the RDS-certified down-filled choice that’s capable of enduring temperatures as low as -20° F.
Rounding out the trio is the extra-warm Dura, which is intended for everything from long-term alpine expeditions to rugged overlanding trips. Also boasting three available options, the 5R Duo and 8R MW are each built to withstand temperatures below zero, while the former is a bit larger. There’s also the more affordable and less-extreme-rated 3R MW. For added peace of mind, each of these sleeping mats is Okeo-Tex 100 Certified, and EXPED has also crafted its wide array of sleeping mats from 100% post-recycled plastic content, with the entire line being certified as climate neutral by myclimate.
