The color white is often coupled with ideas of cleanliness and sterility. However, in an everyday carry sense, it can be a bad thing, as white tends to show dirt, grime, scratches, and blemishes more than other colorways. Still, there’s no denying the draw of its tidiness in certain circumstances. If you’re willing to take the time to clean and maintain your gear, then this week’s everyday carry pocket dump might be right up your alley. But there is also another group that might find this loadout interesting: those who realize that all-white colorways also brings forth the opportunity for your gear to acquire its own unique patina and character. Rather than thinking of how dirty this gear will get, imagine how much more unique it will look the more you use it. It will show off the battle scars like badges of honor — proving its survivability, longevity, and a possible lifetime of service. Whether you prefer the pristine aesthetic or you want to add some character to your EDC gear, you may find something here you enjoy.
The James Brand County Knife
The James Brand’s County Knife was already one of our all-time favorite slipjoint blades for its high-end materials — like a Sandvik steel blade and combination G10 and 416 stainless steel handle — and old-meets-new design. But in all-white it’s somehow even more elegant than ever before. If you’re in need of a remarkably and compact EDC knife, don’t pass this one up.
Acne Studios Leather Bifold Cardholder
Taking cues from old-school bifold wallets, this updated take on the EDC staple is geared primarily toward carrying all your cards — be they identification, credit, or otherwise — but still boasts an elegant genuine leather construction straight out of Italy. With four slots, it should have plenty of room for most, but it’s also still compact enough to fit in a front pocket.
Apple AirPods Pro
When it comes to true wireless earbuds, it’s been made clear that Apple has set the standard with their AirPods. That only became more solidified with the follow-up AirPods Pro, which has all the features of the original with a lot more added to them — including things like active noise-canceling technology, onboard Adaptive EQ, Siri voice control, and so much more. They’re even sweat-resistant for folks who want to use these as workout headphones.
Unimatic U1-MY2 Watch
Created in conjunction with Japanese designer Mihara Yasuhiro, Unimatic has outdone themselves yet again with their absolutely gorgeous and minimalist U1-MY2 watch. On top of its incredibly clean all-white appearance and an almost complete lack of any detailing outside of the necessary dial hour markers, it also boasts a durable Cerakote finish on its 316 steel case, Super-LumiNova markings, an automatic Seiko movement, and more. However, it’s limited to only 100 examples, which might make it hard to find — unless you’re willing to go to Mihara Yasuhiro’s stores in Tokyo and Osaka.
