Böker has spent over 150 years perfecting the knife. Founded in Solingen (Germany’s legendary “City of Blades”), the brand has been producing Damascus steel folders since 1980, well before most of the knife world caught up. So a few years back, when they decided to honor the M4 Sherman Tank, the Allied workhorse of World War II, they didn’t make a themed knife with a camo graphic. They sourced actual material from restored Sherman tanks and had it hand-forged into Damascus steel. The result is one of the most compelling collector releases in recent memory, and now it’s getting a new look in rose gold.

Tank-to-Blade

For the uninitiated, the M4 Sherman was the backbone of Allied armor from 1942 to 1945, with nearly 50,000 units produced, deployed across every major theater of the war by the U.S., UK, France, the Soviet Union, and more. They stayed in service until 1957. Böker’s partnership with the Americans in Wartime Museum in Virginia unlocks access to materials from restored Shermans, which celebrated bladesmith Chad Nichols hand-forges into 80-layer Damascus using a customized ladder pattern that deliberately echoes the tank’s heavy tread tracks.

The Rose Gold edition builds directly on the original M4 Sherman-Damast, and later the Barlow variant — both of which sold well enough to validate this more luxurious edition. This new release swaps the original’s burlap Micarta scales for a titanium and carbon fiber handle, and adds a rose gold PVD coating across the blade, clip, and screws. This might be the most premium-looking military-themed knife we’ve ever seen.

Construction Details

At 7.01″ overall with a 2.95-inch drop-point blade and weighing 3.35oz, the knife is built and finished by hand at Böker’s Solingen factory. The frame lock is paired with a Hinderer Lock-Stop, which prevents overextension of the bar. Deployment is either via flipper or thumb stud, and the deep-carry tip-up clip keeps it discrete in the pocket despite its collector status. Lastly, the pivot screw is a small but rewarding touch, modeled after the Sherman’s main drive sprocket.
