DAMUE Unveils Its First-Ever Forged Carbon Fiber G-SHOCK Watch

Founded in 2015 by a designer with a background working in the fine jewelry space, DAMUE is a Japanese company that puts luxurious, high-end spins on a host of popular G-SHOCK watches. And after previously delivering custom silver and titanium-cased versions of a myriad of G-SHOCK models, the firm has now unveiled its first-ever watch crafted from lightweight yet rugged carbon fiber.

Known as the DAMUE 5600-Carbon, the watch is designed and manufactured entirely in Japan. Using the G-SHOCK DW-5600BB-1JF as its base, the watch is compatible with the DW-5600, GB-5600, GWX-5600, GW-5000, and the SP, ML, LV, and SL-specs of the DW-5000. Measuring 42mm in width and 50mm in height, the watch’s case is made from a Japanese-sourced forged carbon fiber that’s both non-magnetic and corrosion-resistant. What’s more, the forged carbon also sports incredible resistance to UV and ultraviolet rays, enabling the material not to require a coating of any kind.

Made through an advanced process of compressing and heat-treating, this forged carbon material also affords the watch the same level of tensile strength as DAMUE’s Silver925 watch, while weighing 26% less at just 55 grams (or 1.94oz). The forged carbon fiber case has also been mated to a rubber strap that pairs wonderfully with the marbled construction.

Available now in limited numbers, the DAMUE 5600-Carbon G-SHOCK Watch has been priced at $619.
