For nearly half a century, Burton has been one of the industry leaders in snowboarding gear and accessories. Launched back in 1977, the Vermont-based company went on to create the subsidiary Anon Optics, which began as an eyewear brand making premium specs to protect your peepers out on the slopes. In recent years, Anon has been expanding beyond goggles and into lines of snowboarding helmets and, now, sunglasses.
The brand integrated its own Perceive lens technology into its boarding goggles a couple of years back and now has launched a new line of sunglasses employing the same enhanced polarization. Burton’s sunglasses comes in three sleek styles: Winderness, Promoter, and Advocate. For the Winderness, the company has tapped into a snowboarding aesthetic with an inspired, single-lens design that allows you to carry over the boarding culture into your everyday life. Optimal for either low-light or sunny conditions, the Winderness offers quick and easy lens swapping depending on your situation, both equipped with smudge-, scratch-, and moisture-resistant hydrophobic coating. This model is available in both fire red and black colorways.
On the lighter side, the Promoter sports the same lens specs (no pun intended) but features a more accessible design language. The medium-large frame is made with lightweight titanium and cellulose acetate. It comes in black, bronze, or pink. Likewise, the medium-sized Advocate is a bit rounder, with a fully-formed frame for added protection and everyday style. These come in black, bronze, and salt with red lenses.
