Denim is a terrible technical fabric by almost every modern metric. It’s heavy, it holds water, and it doesn’t stretch.
Which is exactly why the Stonemasters wore it up Yosemite granite in the 1970s, back when performance apparel meant whatever hadn’t fallen apart yet. Parisian running label Satisfy has been chasing that ghost since 2024, when it first linked with Levi’s on the STONER capsule. And now the two are back with a second chapter, headlined by the Re-Possessed Levi’s 501 Climb Jeans.
Blame the Stonemasters
The Stonemasters were the loose crew who spent the ’70s putting up Yosemite routes that still humble people today, usually in cuffed 501s and not much else. Denim wasn’t a performance choice, it was literally the only thing in the closet that survived a season of granite.
The first go-round in 2024 came and went fast enough that plenty of people missed it entirely, and the MothTech tee’s graphic lifts straight from Half Dome this time, about as literal as this gets.
These 501s Already Had a Life
Under its Re-Possessed circularity program, Satisfy pulls US-made 501s from the 1970s through the late ’90s back out of circulation rather than cutting new denim. Every pair shows up with fades and creases somebody else spent years putting there, so no two are the same.
Then the reinforcement work starts. Rippy, Satisfy’s Italian-milled ripstop with a background in parachutes, gets laid into the knees and front panels alongside reinforced contact points at the rear pocket.
There’s also an integrated woven belt, and there are two aged colorways this round including blue and black, plus a four-pocket system.
The Western Shirt Gets a Job
The Climb Shirt takes Levi’s Western and adds a sealed Rippy pocket to the chest, plus reinforced hems to keep the thing from fraying itself apart. That translucent grid panel parked next to a standard patch pocket looks bizarre in photos and makes total sense the second you consider where your phone goes 200 feet up.
Rounding out the four-piece capsule is the MothTech Levi’s T-Shirt, cut from organic cotton with laser-cut moth holes and a scissor-cut hem. And those moth-eaten shirts have quickly become the Satisfy trademark.

The STONER capsule drops Thursday, July 30, with the Re-Possessed 501 Climb Jeans at $375 and the Climb Shirt at $330. Pricing on the MothTech tee hasn’t been announced. Head over to Satisfy’s website to sign up for the drop notification, because the first collection didn’t sit around.
