During WWII, the U.S. Air Force’s airplanes ruled the skies. And the top dogs amongst those planes were indisputably the big, badass bombers. Now, more than 70 years after World War Two, you can experience what life was like aboard those massive aircraft at the California-based Bomber Camp.
Flying out of the Stockton Metropolitan Airport in central California, this experience affords attendees the opportunity to get onboard both a B-24 Liberator and a B-17 Flying Fortress to reenact wartime bombing runs. The bombardiers will even have the chance to drop dummy bombs and learn how the ball turrets (the plane’s underside guns) work. There are also a number of upgrades to any package – including one that offers a ride on a legendary P51 Mustang – that can be added for a fee. Prices start at $1,400.
