In just a few years’ time, RZE has become a renowned watchmaker for its lightweight titanium cases offered at accessible price points. Now, the Singapore-based startup-turned-global-favorite has branched out with a new brand concept called Vostra Designs. Staying committed to both design and affordability, Vostra is now debuting its very first collection, dubbed Vector.
Available in three matte dial colors (blue, yellow, and gray) with contrasting hues given to the second hands, the Vector is a retro-futuristic mecha-quartz chronograph with classic three-register layouts but with a more playful approach. Housed in 40mm brushed 316L stainless steel cases, the watches sport twelve-sided steel bezels for a unique appearance that also isn’t far off from your vintage chronographs. Italian for “yours” or “belong to you,” Vostra proves that superb design doesn’t have to be relegated to the luxury sphere, and offers the Vector at a super-accessible sub-$300 price point.
Highly legible, the dial is also given Super-LumiNova on its baton hands and applied indexes. Achieving 100m in water resistance, the Vector also features a pair of low-profile pushers that help give the case an angular shape as well as a modern flavor. For a simple yet complicated dial design, Vostra made the bottom register blend in with the dial color so that it remains present yet doesn’t detract from the minute and hour subdials. The watch is powered by the VK63 mecha-quartz chronograph movement that helps keep costs low but also provides reliable timekeeping, a long lifespan, and low maintenance. Strapped to the watch is an integrated-style solid steel bracelet inspired by vintage watches. Constructed to minimize hair pulling, the links were also designed to emulate classic industrial- and automotive-inspired references.
