Unimatic x Todd Snyder Collab for a Fashion-Forward GMT Travel Watch

Since Todd Snyder and Unimatic first connected at Pitti Uomo in 2024, their partnership has become one of the more compelling watch collaborations out there. Following the sold-out success of their March 2025 Modello Tre chronograph (limited to just 100 pieces), the duo is back with something a bit more practical for frequent travelers, taking on Unimatic’s GMT version of its Modello Quattro U4. Coming in two limited colorways dubbed “Day and Night,” this latest release might also be some of the most fashion-forward GMTs we’ve seen in a while.

A Better Take on the U4-GMT

Unimatic’s Modello Quattro U4-GMT has been around since 2024, appearing in various iterations with laser-etched bezels and dial-mounted complications. This collaboration strips things down even further. The fixed bezel stays clean with acid-etched markings, while the 24-hour GMT track moves to the outer edge of the dial. Inside that, you’ll find a minute track with lume at five-minute intervals, followed by a 12-hour track using Unimatic’s signature Bauhaus-style typography. There’s a military field watch influence here, but its function is a bit flipped — the 24-hour scale typically reserved for the smaller inner ring now dominates the dial’s perimeter.

Both the 40mm brushed stainless steel case (black PVD-coated on the “Night” version) and the dial layout preserve the U4’s tool-watch aesthetic. The “Day” model sports a creamy off-white dial with black printing and a tan suede strap, while “Night” goes all-in on matte black with white detailing. Both watches also sport a distinctive orange-tipped GMT hand. The co-branded dial features Snyder’s name printed below the watchmaker’s logo at six o’clock. Super-LumiNova fills the hands and hour markers, glowing green in low light.

From Milan to Your Wrist

Unlike Unimatic’s early U4-GMT versions that featured Grade 2 titanium cases and the ETA 2893-2 Swiss movement, this Todd Snyder edition houses a Seiko NH34A automatic caliber. It’s a “caller” GMT complication, meaning the 24-hour hand can be set independently, which is ideal for tracking a second time zone without disrupting your local time. It also boasts 41 hours of power reserve and a 21,600 bph rate.

Utility-wise, the flat sapphire crystal and screw-down crown ensure 300m water resistance, though suede is not typically a water-friendly material, so you might want to swap the strap for something else.
