Few watchmakers are as synonymous with the world of racing as TAG Heuer, with countless partnerships with car brands and race events over the years. And now, after a nearly decade-long absence, the Swiss watchmaker is back as the official timing partner of the Goodwood Festival of Speed in England. To celebrate the occasion, they have, of course, unveiled a special-edition of the Carrera Chronograph.

Racing Green Heritage
The Festival of Speed itself deserves recognition for creating something truly unique in the automotive world. Since 1993, Lord March’s vision has evolved from a modest hillclimb revival into a global celebration that attracts 200,000 spectators annually.
Limited to just 100 pieces, the new Carrera shows off its British motorsport inspiration with a stunning “Goodwood Green” dial that pays homage to the racing liveries that have raced up the estate’s famous hillclimb for over three decades now.
This isn’t your typical sunray green dial, though. TAG Heuer has applied a sophisticated clou de Paris (hobnail) texture that creates remarkable depth and visual interest. The guilloché pattern catches light differently depending on the angle, giving the watch a premium feel that makes it a worthy addition to its Carrera lineage — a collection originally born from Jack Heuer’s fascination with the dangerous Carrera Panamericana road race in the 1960s.
The red accents on the watch really pop against the dominant green. A crimson chronograph hand echoes the dashboard instruments of classic British race cars, designed to catch your eye for more critical information when driving. Meanwhile, the 60-minute bezel design features a row of lines parallel to the dial ring, reminiscent of a race track.

Modern Engineering Meets Classic Aesthetics
Housed inside a 42mm stainless steel case is TAG Heuer’s in-house TH20-00 automatic chronograph movement, visible through the sapphire caseback window. The caseback is also engraved with the individual watch’s edition number.
Last, but certainly not least, the perforated brown leather rally strap completes the vintage racing motif, featuring old-school “speed holes” that actually helped drivers’ hands breathe during long stints in hot cockpits. Showing up on the market from time to time, these straps are always some of our favorites. Here, the look is complete with contrasting white stitching.
