Ever since launching Grail Watch a year ago, Wei Koh, founder of Revolution magazine, has been keeping enthusiasts of quirky watches on their toes. Partnering with brands such as Ressence and Trilobe on fun website exclusives, the label has now unveiled its fourth release.
Collaborating with aeronautics-inspired watchmaker Bell & Ross and artist Alain Silberstein, Grail Watch has come out with a trio of watches — the automatic Klub 22, the Marine 22 diver, and the Krono 22 chronograph — all with black dials and a consistent design language. At first glance reminiscent of GPS readouts, the new black ceramic timepieces each sport a three-hand design, with each hand having a different shape. For the Klub and Krono, the minute hand is a long blue arrow, the second hand is a yellow S-shaped silly straw, and the hour hand is a red circle with a small stick along the outer edge. The Krono has the addition of two small totalizers.
While the Marine dive watch has a similar aesthetic, the dial layout favors visibility. The minute hand is outlined in red with the middle saved for lume and the blue hour hand is a much smaller circle, also with an open middle for lume.
Available exclusively through Grail Watch’s website, the watches start at $4,400 and go up to $6,700, with a Trilogy Box Set of all three pieces priced at $16,700. The Klub 22 is limited to 200 pieces, while the Marine 22 and Krono 22 are limited to 100 each.
