Since partnering up in 2021, Girard-Perregaux and Aston Martin have come out with at least one collaborative watch per year. However, it’s only March and we’ve already gotten our second model for 2025. Lucky us!
For their seventh watch release in total, the brands now debut a relatively understated F1 Edition of GP’s Laureato Absolute. While the new timepiece won’t necessarily be as jaw-dropping as the iridescent green dial Laureato Chronograph last month which matched the Valkyrie hypercar, or the version from 2024 that used materials from previous F1 cars, this is a watch for fans of both brands who just want something simple, sporty, and, of course, green.

A Sports Watch Revival
When Girard-Perregaux came out with the Laureato in 1975, it was an instant hit, epitomizing the luxury sports watch aesthetic enthusiasts clamored for back then. Launched as a quartz watch, the Laureato didn’t get its first mechanical movement until 1995. Around that time, the model was only released sporadically or in limited production.
However, in 2016, during the sports watch resurgence, GP decided to breathe life back into the Laureato as a member of its permanent collection. Then, in 2019, the Laureato Absolute was born, bringing the sports watch into the modern age with modern features such as a larger 44mm case, innovative case materials, and an overall more aggressive look.

Girard-Perregaux Laureato Absolute Aston Martin F1 Edition Basics
In anticipation of the 75th anniversary of Formula One, this latest GP x Aston Martin watch features the very expected green dial, this time without any patterns or “gimmicks” — just a flat, slightly speckled surface in Aston Martin’s Racing Green. It’s given skeletonized hands that pay homage to the front grills on the marque’s vehicles — a very subtle homage.
Meanwhile, lime green is used briefly at the tips of the hour and minute hands, and the entirety of the second hand. The color also surrounds the calendar window at the bottom of the dial, along with the water resistance marking.

Business As Usual
Fans of the Laureato Absolute will appreciate the true-to-form construction of this special edition, including retaining the 44mm case diameter with 300m of water resistance and delivering a very straightforward titanium case design, for the most part.
However, if you do want some more green, you’re in luck. The color is used for the ring around the screw-down crown, as well as the fabric-style FKM rubber strap, outlined in black with a titanium folding clasp.
Behind the solid caseback featuring Aston Martin’s wings logo is the in-house GP03300 automatic movement, powering the simple time and date functions and boasting 4Hz and 46 hours of power reserve.
