Have G-SHOCK and Crocs seriously never teamed up before? It seems almost natural that the streetwear-favorite watchmaker and so-funky-its-cool footwear brand would have collaborated at some point in the latter’s two-decade run. But so it is, today’s the day we finally get to see what that joint effort looks like. Not just a shoe, not just a watch, the Echo Wave Bundle manages to put both products into a single package. And, oh yeah, it glows in the dark!

Time And Sole
The heart of this collaboration centers around the dual approach that combines flagship items from both brands. Made with G-SHOCK’s famed shock-resistant construction, the cream-colored “CasiOak” GA2100 watch (ref. GA2100CROCS25-7) features a resin case and the phosphorescent Neobrite dial that Casio has been rolling out in recent months. And while fans have been begging the Japanese watchmaker to use its phosphorescent GITD tech for a fully-lumed case, their prayers have been answered, sorta, thanks to the modular association with the Crocs show.
The Echo Wave clogs feature a band that’s perfectly shaped to house the GA2100 inside a rivet system, and gives it a glowing case as a result (although the watch’s actual case itself doesn’t glow). The combination creates a total glow since the Crocs radiate bright green at nighttime as well. To remove the timepiece, you simply use the quick-release levers to pop it back out.

Matching the custom multicolor marbled pattern on the shoe’s heel strap, the watch also features a resin band with the same pattern. Meanwhile, both the shoe and watch sport a bone white base color for an overall monochromatic look — especially when glowing green at nighttime. But we do love the use of subtle pink on the chapter ring around the watch dial and surrounding the hands as well. With or without the accompanying clog, this CasiOak is a stunner in its own right.
Sporting an ana-dig hybrid display, this new CasiOak edition still has all the features you love on the standard 2100, such as the 200m of water resistance, a world time function, a1/100-second stopwatch, a countdown timer, 5 daily alarms, and double LED light. Just the same, the Crocs clogs have the popular LiteRide footbed, ventilation holes, and aforementioned heel strap for adjustments.

Functional Fashion
These aren’t Crocs first glow-in-the-dark shoes. In fact, the brand has had a few releases dating all the way back to 2019 that feature glowing elements. While not necessarily as strong as your standard Super-LumiNova, basic GITD tech is something many of us have been familiar with since our youth, especially if you had those glowing stars and planets on your ceiling as a kid.
Some would argue that GITD is merely a novelty. And while you may be correct when it comes to most products, it has practical applications in the watch world. Seeing the time at night is a key benefit of lume. Likewise, while footwear hasn’t truly embraced the full-glow effect, it can help you remain visible at nighttime, even if you might look a bit goofy doing so.
In terms of the watch-clog combo, wearing your watch on your feet won’t be all that helpful when checking the time, but the housing on the Crocs can help you keep your light-colored timepiece safe and clean when you need to get your hands dirty. Ultimately though, this partnership feels like both brands poking fun at their sometimes too-serious industry counterparts while delivering a dose of useful innovation.
