As one of the kings of the digital watch industry, G-SHOCK has more ubiquitous models than you could name (and that’s not just because their alphanumeric naming convention is so darn confusing sometimes). However, for every 5600, 2100, and Mudmaster, there is another model line that doesn’t get quite as much play. And while the Casio sub-label’s 6900 isn’t remotely obscure by any means, it had taken somewhat of a backseat in recent years, although has endured enthusiasm in the music and streetwear communities. This month, the brand is bringing a trio of new references to the series that essentially revive classic variants from the late-’00s.

In 2008, G-SHOCK celebrated its 25th anniversary and, among other releases, decided to introduce the Crazy Colors series, which came in the form of the DW-6900CS and the DW-5600CS watches. Among the initial wave were a black model with a green dial and face, a pink version with a silver dial and pink face, and a white version with a green face and a blue and purple dial. The bezels and bands have a glossy finish as well. All three models sport an updated battery system in the module 3529, which runs for 5 years and powers an LED light behind the digital display.

While most G-SHOCK models have at least a hint of retro aesthetic, the 6900, which originally debuted in 1995, is decidedly the most “of-its-era,” making it a perfect canvas for more playful designs like these Crazy Color releases. There’s no word yet on if the DW-5600CS models are going to be revived as well, but we’d love to see a slew of reissues and even new colorways as well.

As of right now, the DW-6900RCS is only available overseas, priced at £99.90 (~$126), but is expected to hit the North American market soon. Keep an eye on G-SHOCK’s website for more information.
